Fernando Carvalho - Rota do Românico

Mr. Fernando has been living in Ribas since 1966. He has been in the choir since he was 13 years old. In the Church of the Saviour of Ribas, he received communion, got married, and christened his children. He was a carer at the Brotherhood of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for 18 years, before accepting the invitation to become sexton.
He takes part in the events promoted by the Route of the Romanesque in that monument, such as concerts.
In his opinion, visitors are well received and are mainly interested in the stonemasons' initials and the mural paintings. 'Here, in this area, there is no church like ours, some are beautiful, very beautiful... but like ours, by far, I have never seen one,' he tells us with immense pride.
