Classified as a bathing area in the summer of 2011, it relies on the support lifeguards and equipment approved by the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos [Maritime Aid Institute]. It has a properly signalled and limited bathing area, as well as supporting infrastructures (a bar, bathrooms, access ramps and a car park).
The river beach of Bitetos was, in the past, a mandatory stopping point for the "Rabelo" boats. Ideal for canoeing, water skiing and power boating. Classified as an Accessible Beach/Beach for Everyone.
