This viewpoint has privileged views over the region known as Terras de Basto, including the neighbouring Castle of Arnoia. There are references to the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Calvelo dating back to the 17th century, but few original elements remain, as it was destroyed by a fire in the 20th century. But its old and famous pilgrimage survives, taking place on the third Sunday of August.
