Estação de Aregos, Santa Cruz do Douro
"The lush valleys of greenery, the almost sacred woods, the scented orchards in bloom, the freshness of the singing waters, little chapels bleaching in summits, the mossy rocks, the air of a sweet paradise, all the majesty and all the prettiness. Allow your eyes to gaze upon the powerfully deep valleys (...) the thicket flocks, so leafy and round, coloured in such a juvenile green and feel the light fluttering of birds all around you."
This is how Eça de Queiroz, in the book The City and the Mountains, describes the landscape crossed by this linear pedestrian route. Almost 3 km long, it connects the Aregos (Tormes) train station to the Eça de Queiroz Foundation.
