Housed in the former family home of Américo Ferreira Leite, the Casa do Assento Museum is the result of his extensive collection of objects related to rural ethnography. Inaugurated in August 1993, the museum was left in a will to Felgueiras City Council.
On 25 May 2025, after a period of restructuring, the Casa do Assento Museum (re)opened to the public, with a permanent exhibition dedicated to rural activities, in particular the olive oil, wine, bread and linen cycles.
