The Interpretative Centre of Ceramics was set up in the former Primary School of Raposeira and includes exhibition and pedagogical facilities. This Interpretive Centre intends to revive black clay handicrafts in Resende; in this region, since medieval times, potters shaped the clay on their wheels, baked it in 'soengas' and traded their pieces in fairs across the region or door-to-door for agricultural products.
