In 1700, the Meireles family chose Molares, in the municipality of Celorico de Basto, to produce its famous wines. In 1980, Gonçalo and Ângela Dias took over one of the wine farms and modernised its vineyards and cellars, producing the excellent Minho Molares regional white wine, using Arinto and Azal grape varieties.
