On a very steep slope, Terrus Douro's terraces are supported by granite walls made by hand over the years. The predominant orientation is to the west and the soil is exclusively granite.
The grape varieties chosen were Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Souzão and others on an experimental basis. The vineyard is intensively and lovingly tended throughout the year with minimal use of chemical products.
