In 2025, the Route of the Romanesque will once again be associated with the Amarante Early Music Festival, organised by the Amarante Cultural Centre – Maria Amélia Laranjeira.
The fourth edition of this event will take place between 8 and 22 November in five locations in three municipalities: Amarante Cultural Centre, Solar dos Magalhães and Church of Misericórdia (Amarante), Monastery of Pombeiro (Felgueiras) and Church of Sobretâmega (Marco de Canaveses).
The IV Amarante Early Music Festival is committed to decentralising cultural offerings across the territories involved, promoting a workshop/performance, a lecture and four concerts with diverse characteristics and repertoires, ranging from the 16th to the 18th century.
Two of the planned concerts will take place in buildings on the Route of the Romanesque:
– 9 November, Sunday, 4 pm, Monastery of Saint Mary of Pombeiro, Felgueiras
Iberian Ensemble (Alexandre Andrade (baroque flute) and Ivan Oliveira (theorbo and baroque guitar)) and Daniel Oliveira (organ);
– 22 November, Saturday, 7 pm, Church of Saint Mary of Sobretâmega, Marco de Canaveses
Duo Andrómeda (Filipa Oliveira and Josten Gundersen (flutes)).
