To mark the end of the European Heritage Days 2026 celebrations, the Church of Saint James of Valadares in Baião will host the woodwind trio from the Orquestra da Costa Atlântica on Sunday 27 September at 5.00 pm. Admission is free.
The Orquestra da Costa Atlântica presents a chamber music concert dedicated to the theme ‘Silenced Voices, Rediscovered Memories’, which brings back to the attention of contemporary audiences repertoires that have been marginalised for political, social or cultural reasons.
The programme, for woodwind trio, brings together works by Erwin Schulhoff (1894-1942), Fernando Lopes-Graça (1906-1994), Witold Lutosławski (1913-1994) and Claude Arrieu (1903-1990), revealing different trajectories of European musical modernity and the dialogue between aesthetics, memory, resistance and historical context.
