Mrs. Deolinda has been the carer of the Church of Gatão since 2014. Besides opening the door to visitors, she prepares the altar for the celebration of the Eucharist.
She was always told that dead people were buried inside the church and, later on, she was struck by the appearance of corpses in it, when some archaeological excavations were carried out there.
She says that the Church attracts many visitors and that tourists admire the beauty of the frescoed murals.
In her opinion, the population liked the fact that the Church joined the Route of the Romanesque because 'it attracts a lot of people to visit it.'
